Win. Build. Send. This is our motto at Cru this year. It helps describe our goals, sort of like a mission statement.
Winning Compassionately Our main goal at Cru is to minister to people who don’t know Jesus. This means a lot more than just telling them about him (although that is very important to us also!). We want to see students’ lives transformed through personal relationships with Jesus. We also seek to genuinely care for other people and offer them a positive community in which they can get connected, make friends, and learn more about Jesus.
Building Community Cru is about community because Christianity is about community. We don’t want to withdraw from the world; rather, we seek to get involved around campus and the world as we are involved in each other’s lives also. We know no one likes to be alone. We also know it can be difficult to be a Christian in a world that is so opposed to it. That’s why one of our goals is to build community in Cru and on campus. You’ll find Cru communities in dorms, apartments, athletic teams, etc.
Sending Courageously Most of us are only here for a few years. At Cru, we believe a transformed life extends beyond college. We don’t want you to just be involved with Jesus while you’re here, but after you graduate and continue your life. We seek to send students out into the world to make an impact for Jesus and reach people everywhere. And we know this requires courage, no matter where you are. |
